Police arrived at the drive-thru restaurant to find the 60-year-old woman with a swollen red face and the car splattered with pickles, ketchup and mustard
Police were called to a McDonald's restaurant in Indianapolis, Indiana, at around 12.30am on Sunday following reports of an assault.
The two women are believed to have started arguing after the mother told her daughter she could not longer stay at her home.
The 60-year-old mum was driving her daughter, 39, to someone else's house when the younger woman changed her mind about where she wanted to go, the Indy Star reported.
After stopping in the car park to allow other car passengers to use the bathroom, the mother told police her daughter said she wished her mum would die, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department Officer Aaron Hamer said.
"While her daughter was seated in the front passenger seat she took a bite out of her cheeseburger," Hamer told the Indy Star.
"The victim stated her daughter yelled 'B***h I outta kill you' and hit her in the left side of her face with her hand and the cheeseburger."
Officers saw that she had ketchup and mustard down the front of her shirt and there were pickles, ketchup and mustard splattered across the interior door of the car.
Police are looking for the daughter after she fled the scene in another car.
