An exciting art competition has been launched by the Daily Record and one of Scotland’s most popular artists.
Steven Brown, famous for his McCoo paintings, is the latest sponsor to get involved with the Scottish Education Awards which we hold in partnership with the Scottish Government to recognise excellence in education.
Entries for the awards themselves are closed.
But victors in the art competition could win tickets to the awards night, art supplies for their school and a money-can’t-buy art lesson with Steven for them and their class.

The Scotland’s Past competition is aimed at raising awareness and celebrating the nation’s history and heritage through art. Pupils are asked to consider what they think of when asked about Scotland’s history.
All entries will be exhibited at the awards on Wednesday, June 7, at the Doubletree by Hilton in Glasgow. The closing date is April 28.
Winners of the art competition could bag themselves and their school a host of goodies
Steven, 45, shot to fame after picking up his old brushes in 2010 following a heart attack at the age of 38. He has bagged a place in the UK’s top 50 most popular current artists.
His trademark colourful animal paintings sell around the world for up to £5000 and he has 220,000 followers on Facebook.
He said: “Since I became popular on Facebook , I’ve been asked to a lot of schools to talk to pupils. I can’t believe how excited they are to see an artist.

“I chose to sponsor the health and wellbeing category at the awards because of my health being poorly and because I am keen to promote wellbeing in schools. Art is a good way to achieve this.”
