The President has a habit of moving things around for some reason - but we reckon we've worked out why
Seriously, it's a thing.
Eagle-eyed TV viewers pointed out how frequently the President fiddles with whatever's in front of him.
From coasters and papers to his own name-plate, he never seems satisfied with the arrangement of items on his desk or boardroom table.
Some have suggested this might be evidence of obsessive-compulsive tendencies - but having seen pictures of his desk at Trump Tower, this doesn't seem likely.
In fact, it's possible the fiddling isn't subconscious at all - and is a deliberate power play from Trump's boardroom days.
Many body language experts suggest spreading out as much as possible when sitting around a meeting table, to assert authority and claim territory.
In her book The Nonverbal Advantage, Carol Kinsey Goman notes: "Lower-status, less-confident men (and most women) tend to pull in. They keep all their materials in one neat pile, whereas more-confident or higher-status men will usually spread out their papers and claim their turf."
That would certainly explain why he not only moves his own stuff - but other people's glasses and coasters out of his 'zone.'
